L'egogi Privacy Policy

L'egogi is a personal finance tracker made by Ikechukwu Achom ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the L'egogi app for Android.
In short: your financial records stay on your phone. We don't run servers that receive them, and we don't sell or share them.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone:
- income and expense entries, with their amounts, dates, notes and the people or businesses you paid or were paid by;
- categories, budgets, debts and repayments;
- your settings, such as your name, currency and transfer fee.
We do not receive a copy of this information. L'egogi does not use accounts, cloud sync, advertising or analytics services. Android's own backup is turned off for L'egogi, so your records are not copied to Google Drive or moved to a new phone automatically.
Voice input
When you use voice add, the app asks for microphone permission. Speech is turned into text by your phone's speech recognition service. On phones that support it, L'egogi asks for this to happen on the device. Otherwise your phone's speech service (usually Google's) may process the audio under its own privacy policy. L'egogi does not record, keep or send audio itself; only the resulting text is used to fill in a draft entry, which you review before saving.
Receipts you share into the app
You can share a bank receipt or a screenshot from another app into L'egogi. The text is read on your phone using Google's ML Kit text recognition. The receipt image is not uploaded. The app keeps a temporary copy only while reading it, and replaces it the next time you share a receipt.
ML Kit sends Google limited technical information to keep the feature working and to measure its performance: device model and Android version, the app's package name and version, a per-installation identifier, performance metrics and error codes. It does not include your receipt, its text or your financial records. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure.
Feedback and sharing
- Send feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. Nothing is sent until you press send there. If you do, we receive your email address, your message, and the app version and phone platform added to it, and we use them only to reply and improve the app.
- Share L'egogi and Export summary use your phone's share menu. Where that information goes is your choice.
Children
L'egogi is meant for adults managing their own money. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
Because your records are on your phone, you control them directly. You can edit or delete any entry, export a CSV copy, or delete everything by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete those emails. Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023, you may have further rights; contact us to use them.
Security
Your records are protected by your phone's own security and encryption, and other apps cannot read L'egogi's private storage. Keep a screen lock on your phone to protect them.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy before L'egogi starts collecting anything new, for example if optional accounts or cloud backup are added, and change the effective date above.
